What personal data we collect and why
When you register for an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
When you build your Tale of Life profile, you may choose to share personal life story content across sections such as Early Age, Family, Work Life, and Personal Growth. This content is entirely optional and provided by you — you control what you write and what you choose to leave blank.
You decide who can see each part of your profile. Fields can be set to be visible to everyone, to friends only, or kept private, and you can change this at any time.
Media
If you upload images to your profile (such as a profile photo), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.
Cookies
If you log in, we set cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Login cookies last for two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me.” If you log out, these cookies are removed.
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Sensitive Signing in with Google
Tale of Life offers the option to register and log in using your Google account. If you choose this option, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us, in accordance with Google’s own privacy policy. We do not receive your Google password.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email, as is standard for WordPress-based websites.
How long we retain your data
We store the personal information and profile content you provide for as long as your account remains active. You can edit or delete your profile content at any time. If you delete your account, your personal data and profile content will be permanently removed, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or administrative purposes.
What rights you have over your data
You have the right to request an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to request that we erase your personal data. You can also edit or delete most of your profile content directly from your account settings at any time. To make a request, contact us at [your email.

Tale of Life is operated by White Swan OÜ, based in Estonia. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, is headquartered in the European Union (Vilnius, Lithuania). The specific server storing Tale of Life’s data is physically located in the United States (Massachusetts), chosen to provide fast performance for our users.
Because this involves transferring personal data outside the EU/EEA, this transfer is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, as provided in our data processing agreement with Hostinger. Hostinger’s data center is matched with 100% renewable energy.
